SUMMARY:External: European Conference for Science Journalists 2017
DESCRIPTION:“ECSJ2017 aims to inspire through activities. The conference will offer a variety of experiences\, namely\, speeches in plenum\, workshops\, training opportunities\, academic and commercial field studies\, as well as time for networking. In addition to traditional conference elements such as talks and debates among leading professionals\, participants will interact with their peers from many nationalities and cultures. We expect lively debates on current issues among diverse professionals\, including researchers\, journalists\, artists\, teachers\, politicians\, and students. \nWith the mainstreaming of the internet and social media\, the lines of communication have changed\, bringing new possibilities for science journalism and communication. The programme will include: \n– “Reinventing science journalism in the age of disintermediation”\, a talk (27 June) by Alexander Gerber (Rhine-Waal University) – more information\n– A focus group session on RRI and science journalism (date to be determined) conducted by Alexander Gerber (Rhine-Waal University) \n  \nA NUCLEUS Science Journalists Network workshop\, “Help me do my job”\, coordinated by Berit Viuf (EUSJA) and Gorm Palmgren (EUSJA)\, will be held 29 June.
